This paper was presented at SECOPA and will be submitted to The Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. Environmental Racism and the South: A Spatial Analysis (with Rich Engstrom, Georgia State University) This research explores the extent to which racism, poverty and a degraded natural environment are entwined. And explores whether the South disproportionately burdens minority neighborhoods with hazardous toxins and perpetuate an insidious environmental racism? This paper was presented at the Citadel Symposium on Southern Politics, March 2006 and will be submitted to Social Forces. Heritage, Hate, or Something in Between? An Analysis of Civil War Reenactors. (with James Ladd former graduate student). This study is being developed and will require a national on-line survey of reenactors. The questionnaire is almost complete and will go into the field, either late Fall or early Spring 2006. The plan is to develop a book from this comprehensive survey. Courses Taught |
