Biography:
Ross Marlay, Professor of Political Science at Arkansas State University,
received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Illinois
University in 1975. From 1983-1984 Dr. Marlay was a Fulbright Senior
Lecturer in the Philippines. He has written extensively on Burma
and has recently completed a book with Clark D. Neher entitled
Patriots and Tyrants: Ten Asian Leaders. He has also authored twenty-two
articles in the Historical Dictionary of the British Empire, and
another book with Clark Neher titled Democracy and Development
in Southeast Asia: The Winds of Change. His travels, both educational
and recreational, have taken him to such diverse locales as: Ecuador,
Peru, Bolivia, Jordan, Syria, Ireland, Northern Ireland, India,
Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Russia, the Philippines, Mexico,
French Polynesia, Iceland, China, and Japan.
